New Athletes > Open Days

Open days are special one-day competitions conducted by individual or combined Little Athletic Centres. They are conducted on the basis of heats and finals usually in age groups of under 7 upwards.

Open days are an important event for athletes aspiring to compete in Regional or State Competition.

Open days are open to any registered Little Athlete, some open days even allow entry to competitors who are not part of Little Athletics.

Medals are awarded to the first three place getters.

Whilst Open Days are an important stepping stone for top athletes, those athletes who just enjoy competing each week and achieving personal bests can enjoy these events as much.

Do not assume that just because your child does not win every week they will not enjoy such events.
