The Director of Competition (DoC) has advised that program 2 is very busy and all athletes are asked to be ready to commence the day's competition at 8:45am sharp. This will require clubs to have their allocated event equipment set and ready with marshals in place well prior to the scheduled commencement of the day's events.

Sunday 5 October

Despite some last minute early morning organisation, the opening day of the 2008/09 Summer Season kicked off successfully. Thank you to the parents and committee members who have contributed many hours of their time to see the athletes get out on the track for another year. Without the contribution of everyone, the ability of the Centre to achieve the objectives of "fun, family & fitness" for our children can not happen.

On behalf of the Centre President and the 2008/09 Committee thank you for your participation and welcome to the season!

Saturday 13 September

Thank you to all those athletes and their parents, carers and friends that participated in the 2008/09 summer season registration day. Despite the wind playing occasional havoc with shelters and paperwork the warm sunny weather brought together clubs and friends for the excitement of the coming season.

The Croydon Little Athletics Centre is very happy to see athletes return from previous seasons and extends a friendly welcome to new athletes and their families for the upcoming 2008/09 summer season which kicks off on October 4, 2008.

If you were not able to attend registration day but would like to participate in Little Athletics contact clac49@hotmail.com or Carolyn on 9733 4352 for further information. Please note that current members renewing their membership after 13 September will be subject to a $10.00 surcharge.

Saturday 23 August

Earlier this year the incoming Croydon Little Athletics Centre committee conducted a survey of current members to better understand the needs of athletes and their families. The results of the survey have confirmed the appropriateness of many of the Centre's past decisions, however, a number of new initiatives are being established in accordance with the survey outcomes to give athletes and their families the opportunity to maximise the fun and fitness achieved during the 2008-09 season and beyond.

A summary of the survey is available by clicking here.

The committee wishes to express a big thank you to all those members that participated in the survey. If you were not able to respond to the survey and would like to offer comment on any aspect of the Centre please talk with you club president or contact CLAC President Ross Smith.

Saturday 2nd August

The Cross Country results for WEEK 17 are now available on the Results page. This was our last run at Town Park before the Hillbrick Cup next week. With the State Cross Country championships tomorrow todays run was a fun day and everyone ran in their pajamas.

Tomorrow is the State Cross Country Championships at Drouin. For those of you who are running please get to the venue early to avoid late dashes due to getting lost on the way which is quite common. Also come along and cheer on your fellow Croydon athletes, we have a number of medal chances which need your support.

Next week is the Hillbrick Cup and this year it will be a handicap race for each distance. What this means is that the age groups that run for instance over 1000m will all race together and the first two across the line will have a place in our Hillbrick Cup Team, this will be the same for all the distances and athletes will be handicaped according to their best times oover their respective distance. There will be a BBQ and medal presentation for all of our athletes afterwards so please all come along.

Our end of season trip to Starglen Lodge has been delayed by a few weeks due to a booking conflict with the Lodge. Glenn is reorganising the dates and will let us know the new dates as soon as he can.

Next week we are running at Town Park, see you all there.
