EQUIPMENT
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. DUTY CLUB
The Duty Club is to have at least 6 members
at the track by 8am or volunteers for twilight
on the day of competition. Equipment is to be
placed in position ready for use at least 20
minutes before the competitions programme starts.
Duty clubs are rostered refer to the
calendar on pages 8 and 9.
Responsibilities of the Duty Club are:
a. Collect equipment from the shed as directed
by the Director of Competition or Equipment
Stewards.
b. Position flags around the track.
c. Set up and test the PA system. Pack same
away at completion of Program.
d. Erect appropriate banners.
e. On wet days, clear the track.
2. CLUB CONDUCTING EVENTS:
The responsibility of the Clubs conducting events
is as follows:
Discus: Lay out tapes, sweep rings and check
that weights for each age group are available.
Distance: Collect stop watches and check that
they operate.
Front Straight: Set-up Timing Equipment.
High Jump: Position jump bags and bar poles.
Back Straight: Position hurdles in set positions,
collect stop watches and check that they
operate.
Long/Triple Jump: Dig and rake pits, set up
mats and sweep run ups (including adjoining
track lanes).
Shot Put: Lay out tapes, sweep rings and check
that weights for each age group are available.
Javelin: Lay out tapes, sweep runway, set up saftey bunting and check the Javlin weights for each age group are available.
3. RUNNING AND RESULT SHEETS:
Event Managers are to collect the appropriate
sheets from the Director of Competition 10 minutes
before competition begins.
4. LOST AND DAMAGED EQUIPMENT:
Please report damaged or lost equipment so that
it can be replaced quickly.
5. At the CONCLUSION of the programme,
Event Managers are to make sure all equipment
used has been packed up neatly and stored in
the shed.
