The Centre > Centre RulesThe Croydon Little Athletics Centre constitution was last updated in June 2008 and can be viewed in full by clicking here. The constitution is to be read in conjunction with the constitution of the VLAA Incorporated, and is specifically directed to the functioning of the Croydon centre. CROYDON CENTRE RULES
1. Athletes MUST be registered and wear correct Club uniform, with Age Group and Recording Number PINNED on to the front of the uniform. An athlete wearing incorrect uniform will not be allowed to compete. Uniform requirements will be enforced after the fourth week of competition. 2. SPIKES (7 mm only) may be worn by age groups U12 to U17 for laned events only. Footwear is to be worn at all times when competing. SPIKES are not to be worn when going to and from events, they must be carried. 3. Starting blocks must be used by spike wearers in laned events. 4. A parent or Adult Gardian must be in attendance
for the duration of the program. 5. Athletes are to remain in their Club Area
when not competing in an event. 6. Only Officials and competitors are allowed
access to the centre of the arena and competition
areas, parents and carers must remain outside the centre arena. 7. No protest will be accepted. Consideration
will always be given to issues raised through
theClub Team Manager to avoid recurrence of
faults or problems. 8. Athletes arriving late for events will NOT
be able to compete in a later heat unless they
were delayed by another event. If this is the
case, the Club Team Manager must notify the
Event Manager or DOC before the next event gets
underway. 9. On completion of events, athletes are to
immediately go to their Club area. 10. All Athletes and Officials must report by
8.20 am or (5.15 pm) Warm ups. First events
will begin at 8.45 am or (5.45 pm). If officials
are not ready to start at this time, events
may be cancelled until officials are ready. 11. Where there are INSUFFICIENT OFFICIALS to
start an event, the event may be cancelled for
the day. 12. Event programs are listed as they are to
be run, Day 1 to 3. Note: Programs cancelled
by wet weather may be carried over to the next
week. 13. Inclement weather conditions, the lack of
Officials and/or insuficient light may cause
Events to be changed and/ or cancelled during
the course of a Program. 14. If weather conditions prevent the running
of high jump, hurdles or field events, every
effort will be made to include an additional
event to ensure each age group has the required
number of events. Such events will need to fit
in with the days program. 15. If possible, where an event is cancelled
for a second time, following programs will be
swapped to provide fair participation for that
event. 16. Prior to the Christmas break, results for
the following events are not recorded to enable
athletes to be trained and assisted. Shot Put
(U6, U7), Walk (U6, U7), High Jump (U8) (while
flexi bar is used),Triple Jump (U8), Hurdles
(U8). Prior to Christmas break Under 6 age group
will run 150 metres and Under 8 age group will
run 300 metres. Following Christmas, Under 6
age group will run 200 metres and the Under
8 age group will run 400 metres. 17. It may, on occasions, be necessary to reduce
the number of throws, jumps or attempts in field
events to provide a smooth running program. 18. Programs are SUBJECT TO CHANGE. These will be announced and the new schedules provided as required.
