The Events > Championships

CENTRE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Centre Championships are the culmination of our Little Athletics year held on the last Saturday of the Season. However, should inclement weather interrupt the events on Saturday, then the Championships will be completed on Sunday. The Championships are open to all registered Croydon Little Athletes.

The event is run on the basis of heats and finals with Medals being presented to the first three
placegetters in each Event Final.

Competitors may enter up to four events each (one of which is to be a field event) and for an event to be held there must be at least three (3) competitors. In the event of there being less than eight competitors registered in age groups U14 to U17 a Multi-Event comprising of 100m, 800m, 80/90/100 hurdles, Long Jump and Discus will be contested.

The championships are FREE. Entry forms will be available through your club later in the Season.

It is essential that events are chosen carefully and numbered in order of preference ie: U12 have 15 events to choose from. They are to number these events 1 to 15 and a record kept of which events have been requested as no changes can be made after the program has been set.

CHAMPIONSHIP ELIGIBILITY: All Athletes entering the Championships must have competed in a minimum of three events at a minimum of 50% of the available Meetings from date of registration. There are a total of 18 Athletic Meetings in the 2004/2005 Season.

Club Team Members will be issued with event entries one week prior to the Championships being held. No schedule of events can be issued prior to the day.

As with normal competition days parental support in running events is essential.
